It's early 2025 and the world has been transformed seemingly overnight by the explosive growth of AI technologies and tools. As far as the public is concerned the transformation started in earnest about two years ago(or so) with the release of OpenAI's chatGPT which became known across the world by anyone that pays attention to news about technology and even those that don't.

Many have described it like a modern version of the early days of the 'Internet' when people recognized that there was this new medium that was going to be a game changer yet it wasn't yet clear how transformative it would ultimately become. The current explosive emergence of AI is destined to have an even greater impact and is limited only by our imagination.

The availability of massive amounts of news and information made accessible by the Internet and the World Wide Web had the effect of democratizing knowledge to the extent that access was available to most of the planet. In an optimistic view AI will potentially further this democratization of knowledge by providing augmented intelligence to the masses.
